This is will take place throughout the event. There will also be an exhibition of photographs by Melanie King, showing work from her project ‘Ancient Light’, printed using traditional photographic techniques.
Space poet Dom Conlan will not only recite some of his work, he will also introduce the following performers.
First up is Xavier Velastin, who has been specially commissioned for the #NQLWeekend to produce a work inspired by the sounds of the River Irwell.
Then we will have poet Emily Oldfield, reciting a poems, that include the exploring when dusk begins and ends.
Following that, the very talented Carmel Smickersgill, currently at the Royal Northern College Of Music will perform compositions using digital and electronic instruments and devices. She recently showcased new work at Band On The Wall, is already and award winning composer and has been featured on Radio 3.
Finally we have Room 1985, who are about to release a new album and go on a tour of the UK and USA. They describe themselves thus on Twitter “Psychedelia, Space Rock, Electronica, Post-Rock, Synthwave and all the madness around the universe!” and they will sound amazing in the acoustics of the church. They will also be joined by Emily Oldfield.
And, if that isn’t enough, there will be ghost stories in the dark, spooky crypt beneath the church from cult horror actor Lauren Ashley Carter.
The bar will be run by Into The Gathering Dusk, serving drinks & delicious cocktails using fresh herbs.
DJ Yatie Reyes, will be on hand to provide the enchanting soundtrack for the evening.
