A Moon Gathering // super/collider X Ellie Tsatsou

  • Lumen Gallery 200 Cambridge Heath Road London E2 9PA (map)

The evening will commence with Ellie talking to Melanie King of super/collider about her wanderings into forming this ongoing project; the initiation pings, the gradual collection of conversations, the visual and sonic influences as well as all the poetry that has been embedded into these works. from Carl Sagan’s insightful ‘Cosmos’ to star-filled poems by Diane Ackerman and T.S.Eliot, Ellie will attempt to bring forth all the branches of one’s own journey into shaping a body of work inspired by the universe and show what is behind these minimal lunar photographs, shot during diverse moon phases and from various places around the globe since 2014.

Ellie will then be joined by performance artist Lorie Jo Trainor-Buckingham for a poetry performance that will bring to life the literary works that are enveloped in the Moon Series. the selected writings come from a wide spectrum of research, including works by Persian poet Rumi, ancient Greek poetess Sappho, as well as artists recently or currently active such as John Berger, John Cage and Mary Oliver amongst others. the evening will conclude with an acoustic set by musician hd hausmann intimately performing selected songs inspired by the moon, blended together with mystical sounds of the universe; radar echoes from Nasa’s sound archives, interstellar plasmawaves, whistler waves and more.

Rose wine will be served in candlelight and a Moon inspired gift will be given to all our guests.

As space is limited, we would like to kindly encourage you to RSVP on Eventbrite.
