super/collider x Sail Britain: The Fragile Ocean

Join Sail Britain and super/collider for a special exhibition and Saturday night Symposium exploring and celebrating the secrets of our oceans. The Fragile Ocean is an interdisciplinary exhibition bringing together the work and responses of artists, scientists and researchers who have sailed aboard Sail Britain's research yacht over the 2019 programme. from plankton to plastic pollution, celestial navigation to folk songs, The Fragile Ocean will explore ocean literacy and seafaring under sail through the individual responses of a diverse creative community.

Symposium programme, Saturday 23 November, 6pm

- Introduction from Oliver Beardon, Sail Britain's founder on why we all need to engage with the ocean.
- Conservationist Samuel Pearce will share his work studying whales in the Atlantic
- Charlotte de Mille, the importance of engaging young people with the ocean and educational projects.
- Laura Copsey and Emma Harry - the special nature of Islands.
- Marine Biologist Britt Alexander and artist Camilla Brendon will talk about the importance of cross disciplinary projects
